The Musco Family Olive Co. is a privately held family business based in Tracy, California, with facilities across the state. Rooted in expertise from the olive groves of Italy and built over many generations of active family involvement, the Musco Family Olive Co. is the leading supplier of table olives in America.

Our only business is olives, and this is reflected in our continuing dedication to the highest possible quality of materials and equipment to ensure gentle yet efficient handling of the olives for our family of Pearls and Early California brand products.

Commanding market share

The Black Pearls brand, introduced in 1993, is now the #1 brand of olives in the United States. Together with our #2 selling Early California brand, Musco commands 60% of the national branded market share. We are the largest importer of consumer packaged olives, which account for approximately 20% of the Company’s annual sales. We also are the dominant supplier of olives to restaurants and other food service companies. So whether you're enjoying olives at home or while eating out, there is a good chance they came from the Musco Family Olive Co.

The California olive crop

One of two primary olive canners in America, Musco takes in 50% of the 35,000 acre California olive crop, contracting with over 500 growers. Our original Orland facility receives olives grown in Northern California and is the largest packer of Sicilian style specialty olives, and our main receiving center in Lindsay is located in the heart of the Southern California olive growing region. Olives are weighed and sample graded at these receiving facilities, and then transported to the packing plants.

State of the art facilities

The Tracy ripe olive facility is one of the most state of the art in the olive industry. The site boasts highly automated manufacturing lines moving at high speed. Constant technical innovation allows Musco to maintain a highly-automated and highly-efficient manufacturing line. With the processing facility housed at the Tracy headquarters, the Musco Family can maintain the optimum level of quality control for each olive produced. All of this means that the Tracy facility is the most efficient in the industry.

Our family of employees

Musco currently employs over 300 full time employees at its three locations, and approximately 100 temporary and seasonal employees. Our corporate headquarters and sales offices are located in Tracy, California.
