Think Greek for Easy, Delicious Weekend Eats
- A selection of Early California Or Pearls Olives, such as Pimiento Stuffed Manzanilla Olives, Fresh Cured Green Ripe Olives, California Black Ripe Olives and Kalamata Olives
- Mediterranean or Middle Eastern flatbread
- Packaged hummus or other dip
- Cherry tomatoes
- Extra virgin olive oil
- Fresh herbs, like thyme, rosemary or parsley
- Bamboo picks
- White wine
- Red bell peppers
- Boneless chicken thighs
- For the marinade: garlic, lemon, olive oil, sea salt, herbs

Start with Olives
Of course, we always recommend starting with some olives. From there, add some flavorful feta cheese, cherry tomatoes, hummus and flatbread. Adventurous cooks may want to make their own hummus, red pepper dip (hitpiti), roasted eggplant spread (melanazanosalata) or yogurt cucumber dip (tzatziki).
Make it Easy
If you'd rather take an easier route to Greece, the local grocery store or deli will get you halfway around the world in no time. There are many delicious brands of packaged hummus, yogurt dip and eggplant spreads, and there are wonderful feta cheeses available. Bring home a pack of bamboo picks and make up skewers of cubed feta, olives and tomatoes. Fresh herbs and a touch of olive oil will make these colorful kebobs sing with flavor. Serve alongside bowls of olives, flatbread triangles, hummus or other dips. Add some chilled white wine and you're there!
Make it a Meal
For a more substantial meal, pick up some bell peppers and boneless chicken thighs for grilling. For the chicken, make a quick marinade of lemon slices, olive oil, fresh garlic, sea salt and your favorite herbs. Let the meat marinate for a few hours. Quarter and seed the red peppers, drizzle with a bit of olive oil and a sprinkle of salt.
