Sloppy Joes

Add a twist to your Sloppy Joes with Pearls or Early California Ripe Olives. The whole family will love the mild and buttery flavor boost the olives give to this classic recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1 Tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 ½ lbs ground beef
  • 1 small red onion, diced
  • 1 can Pearls or Early California Ripe Olives, roughly chopped
  • 2-8oz cans of tomato sauce
  • 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon brown sugar
  • 3 Tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 2 Tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 2 Tablespoons pepperoncini brine
  • 6 hamburger buns
  • 1/3 cup crumbled feta cheese
  • 1/3 cup pepperoncini peppers

Cooking Instructions

  1. Preheat olive oil in a large skillet to medium high heat
  2. Add ground beef and cook until nearly brown, stirring frequently. Drain excess liquid.
  3. Add red onion, olives, tomato sauce, Worcestershire, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, tomato paste, oregano and pepperoncini brine. Stir until combined.
  4. Bring mixture to a boil then reduce heat to simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Divide meat mixture between six buns. Top with feta and pepperoncini peppers. Serve.
